The united state of America is the World’s third largest country in size and nearly the third largest in terms of population. The country is bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean and to the east by the Atlantic Ocean. Along the northern border is Canada and the southern border is Mexico. There are 50 states, a federal District and five territories. It has great influence over world finance, trade, culture, military, politics and technology. The United States has high mountains in the west and a vast central plain.
The United State has been a nation of immigrants. The population is diverse with people from all over the world seeking refuge and a better way of life. USA is divided into six regions: New England, The mid-Atlantic, the south, The Midwest, The Southwest, and The West.
The wildlife is as diverse as the landscape. USA has over 20,000 flower species and most came from Europe. In USA, There are more than 400 areas which are protected and maintained by the National Park service, and many other parks in each state.
The United state has a capitalist economy. The country has rich mineral resources, with many gold, coal and uranium deposits. America produces cars, airplanes and electronics, in the past hundred years have established America as a world leader economically, militarily, and technologically. America has the largest coal reserves in the world.
The United States doesn’t have an official language. The language in which the United States declaration of independence and United States constitution are written. 38 states out of 50 have English as the official language. French is also a main language in parts of Louisiana because French once owned the area as a colony.

The children enroll themselves into an education system when they are five or six years of age. A child can choose to study either in private schools, or home schools or public schools.
Primary Education: In primary school education, Student will be completing five grades of education. These five grades of education focus on introducing children to the broad range of knowledge, Basic academic learning, Reading and socialization skills they will need to perform well in their future. This is also includes learning basics of mathematics, English proficiency, Science, Social studies, Physical development and fine arts.
Secondary Education: Junior and Senior high school together provides secondary education to the children. Junior high school refers to grade six through eight and High school beings with ninth grade and progress to twelfth grade.
Undergraduate Education: Undergraduate schools offer a two year degree which is called associate’s degree or four year degree called bachelor’s degree in a particular field of study.US Education system is much more open. In US students discuss the issues and focus more on ideas. TH\his is the very unique characteristic of United State’s Higher Education system is that student can change their major multiple times if they choose. It is extremely common for US students to switch majors at some points in their undergraduate studies. The US education system is very flexible. Students discover a different field that they excel in or enjoy.
Postgraduate Education: After the completion of undergraduate courses, students can continue their studies by pursuing a master’s degree which is a two years degree to specialize in a particular field. After completing the master’s degree the students can pursue their education even further in a particular field with a doctorate degree. Based on the course opted, capability of the students and the dissertation selected the duration to complete a doctorate degree is between three to six years.
